I've been seeing a cranial osteopath since October 13th. I had my 4th session on November 9th, I had to admit to her that I was ready to call it quits. If anything, I thought that I had been getting worse since I started going.
I had been having headaches on and off all week. Those fingers pushing at my temples had returned. It felt awful to be back at that point again. Which of course just compounded things in my brain and made things worse.
Monday's treatment was different though. Once she heard what my symptoms were, she approached things differently. First task was to unlock the levator on my left side. (I won't try to explain, here's some more good information related to the levator.)
Next, I think it was the temporalis she worked on. I'm no expert, might have been something else. She actually stuck her finger into my mouth and pressed at the back of my mouth beyond the teeth to perform a release. Repeated on the other side. There was also some pressing to perform a release on the hard palate. After I got up, I felt like the fog had started to lift.
So what does that mean exactly? Well... yesterday I prepared and gave a presentation at work in front of a dozen or two people.
What did I do today?
- Dropped off child to daycare. Nice safe drive
- Put on the winter tires on the car
- Relaxed. I must've forgotten how previously
- Watched the Remembrance Day ceremony on TV. I don't think I can deal with crowds of 35,000 people yet
- Raked the front yard
- Raked the back and side yards (those who know, would probably know that we get a lot of leaves in these two places
- Worked up the garden (it's not a small one!)
- Buried the leaves in the garden
- Drained and cleaned the rain barrel
- Brought in the hammock stand
- Put the patio table in the shed
- Put away the garden host
- Washed the dishes
- Watched a movie as I typed this out
- Nap
- Prepped a few things for supper (just rice and carrots, but it's doing something!)
- I'm still supposed to do the weatherstripping in our bedroom
I think I did more things in the past two days than I have in the past month! And its only mid-afternoon!
Oh, about that movie. I am currently watching The Gunman starring Sean Penn as I type this. Coincidentally he apparently has post-concussion syndrome. I wish that I could do all that with PCS. Post traumatic stress disorder is probably what they were looking for. Movie was terrible. Anyways, point being I am multitasking effectively!
I don't remember the last time I felt like this.... it's amazing! Thank you Ms. Cranial Osteopath! I can only hope that this progression continues.
