Ottawa's Confederation Line finally opened on Saturday. I had the opportunity to take it to work this morning, and it was great! What a smooth, pleasant ride. The stations were easy to navigate and unlike many people, I don't mind having to transfer to/from a bus.

But this is an TBI site not a transit site so the TBI spin is that I ended up lightheaded and dizzy at work. I know myself well enough that I can narrow the cause down to the ride on the train. I don't typically stare out the window while riding public transit, but I was a kid riding the train for the first time and I definitely was taking in all the new (old?) sights along the old Transitway corridor. I ended up leaving work early for a rest. The train ride home was a little more low-key, taking in less stimulus. Doing a bit better now.

What happened?

I can't be certain, but I suspect it's related to the vestibular dysfunction that I dealt with early on in my recovery. One of the first easily accessible treatments that I went through was vestibular rehabilitation at LifeMark Physiotherapy. Frequent assessment and rehabilitation exercises greatly helped me with gait and balance issues. It was definitely my first sign of improvement on this long path to getting closer to my old self.
